Our Preschool is designed for children ages 3 and 4 years old.
Our Pre-School Program has learning areas designed to help in Physical, Emotional & Social, Language & Literacy, and Cognitive Development. Here are some examples of critical skills the children learn in these areas:
- Library – listening, word recognition, language skills
- Dramatic Play – Social skills, self confidence, respect
- Science – experimentation, exploration, prediction
- Math – classification, numbers, sorting, sequencing
- Fine Motor/Art – self expression, eye hand coordination, writing
- Blocks & Cars – architecture, cooperation, design
- Music – listening, movement, teamwork
Children decide which centers they would like to play in during the day. Each learning area is well-designed, and children learn to make good choices and learn through play.
Each three year old has a developmental record that charts each child’s progress. Records are also used as a tool for planning activities according to each child’s developmental needs.
Routines and Consistency are very important with this age group. Our teachers follow a lesson plan that is designed to teach the children according to the weekly theme. Children stay in groups of 10 for most of the day to ensure close attention and help in areas that are needed for each child.
